Time limits for filing

A complaint must be filed within one year of the incident leading to the complaint, wherein the incident occurred on or after May 29, 1999. An ongoing criminal investigation or a mental or physical disability following the incident giving rise to the complaint shall not be counted in determining whether the one year period for filing the complaint has expired.
